ABILENE, Texas - McMurry University volleyball completed a three-match sweep in the American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournament on Saturday, defeating Louisiana College, 3-0, at Kimbrell Arena. The War Hawks (15-7, 7-5 ASC) defeated the Wildcats by set scores of 25-16, 25-4, 25-13.
The eventual outcome was never much in question from the outset, as McM dominated the upstart LC team. The War Hawks hit .341 as a team, while the Wildcats had a negative-.140 attack average.
The duo of
Justice McGowan and
Madison Reed provided all the punch the McM team would need. McGowan had a match-high 12 kills and a .500 attack average. She also had a match-best five blocks.
Reed added 10 kills and a .444 attack average.
Jordyn Burnell had five kills and three blocks, as well.
Emarie James led McM with 19 assists, while
Lauryn Davis chipped in 13 assists. Davis also had three service aces.
Christian Brown led the back row with 12 digs. Junior libero
Odalis Rodriguez made 10 digs and had six assists.
