The McMurry University football team held its first practice on Monday (Aug. 15), in preparation for the upcoming 2016 season. McM's third-year head coach Lance Hinson welcomed 125 players into the War Hawks' fold.

McM will be on the turf of Wilford Moore Stadium daily from 2-5 p.m. from August 15-19, and 21. The team will practice twice on Aug. 20 (9-11:30 a.m. and 7-9:30 p.m.). Classes begin on Aug. 22, at which time the team will be on the field 4-7 p.m. (Tue.-Thurs.) and Friday's from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday will be position meetings day.

McMurry opens the 2016 season on September 10 at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
