KERRVILLE, Texas – For the fifth time this season, then McMurry University volleyball team shutout an opponent, blanking Schreiner University, 3-0. The War Hawks (12-6) topped the Mountaineers (3-18) by scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-12 at the SU Events Center.
Sophomore transfer
Madison Reed notched her third double-digit kills total, with 11. Reed had a team-best 26 attacks and a .308 attack average for the night. She also posted a team-high total of four blocks.
Teammate, and junior transfer,
Baylie Barnes added eight kills and registered a .412 attack average, along with eight digs on defense and two aces. Freshman
Justice McGowan continued her outstanding rookie collegiate campaign by contributing seven kills, three blocks and five digs, along with a match-leading .583 attack average.
Jordyn Burnell booked six kills.
Jasmine Jones and
Katy Headrick had five kills each. Headrick had 10 digs and a pair of service aces. Jones had two blocks.
As a team, the War Hawks hit a healthy .282 as a group. McM had a best effort of .375 in the second set. Conversely, McMurry did not give the Mountaineers much to work with and held Schreiner to negative attack averages in all three sets (and a minus-.054 for the match).

Madison Fatheree and freshman
Emarie James combined for 32 assists and 15 digs. Fatheree led the way with 17 assists and eight digs, while James was close behind with 15 helps and seven digs.
Sophomore libero
Odalis Rodriguez had 15 digs to pace McM.
The War Hawks will next participate in the ASC Crossover Tournament on Friday and Saturday at UT-Dallas.
