Men's Soccer Falls to Falcons

ABILENE, Texas – Allowing four goals in each half proved to be the undoing for the McMurry University men's soccer team, falling to visiting UT-Permian Basin, 8-0, at Wilford Moore Stadium.

The NCAA Division II Falcons (2-4) got out to a fast start versus the War Hawks (0-7) and never looked back.  Between the 4:22 and 6:51 minute marks - a span of less than 2 ½ minutes – of the first period, UTPB would net three goals. The Falcons would add one more goal in the 24th minute to lead at the break, 4-0.

McM was out-shot in the match by a 29-3 margin, with UTPB netting the four additional goals in the final period. Falcon tallies in the 52nd, 65th, 76th and 82nd minutes made for the final 8-0 score.

The War Hawks' shots came from Mario Sandoval, Zack Smith and Rafael Lara.  All three attempts for McM were on-goal.

McMurry goalkeeper Austin Long had eight saves.  UTPB net-minder Justin Bryant had all three Falcons' saves.
