Men's Soccer Can't Solve UT Tyler

TYLER, Texas - McMurry University played its third-consecutive road game and was topped by UT Tyler, 4-0, at the Perkins Soccer Complex. The Patriots evened their record at 2-2-1 on the year.  The War Hawks fell to 0-5.

UTT built a 3-0 lead by the halftime break. The Patriots scored in the seventh, 10th and 31st minutes of play.

The War Hawks kept the Patriots in check most of the second stanza.  A goal 10 minutes into the final period was the only blemish, making it the 4-0 final score.

Statistically, UTT held a solid advantage in total shots, 21-3.  11 of UTT's efforts were on-goals, while none of the War Hawks' shots were on frame. The Patriots also held the lead in corner kicks (5-2).

McMurry's shot attempts were taken by Rafael Lara – who had two – and John Alsides.  McM goalkeeper Austin Long registered seven saves.

The War Hawks will close the current four-game road skein on Saturday at 3 p.m. at University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.  It will also be McM's fifth away match out of six contests in 2015.
