Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Dave Beyer, McM Sports Information Director

War Hawks Rule the Lady Knights, 87-21

ABILENE, Texas – For the second-consecutive meeting, McMurry University's women's basketball team dominated Southwestern Adventist University, winning 87-21, at Kimbrell Arena. The War Hawks (4-20) defeated the Lady Knights 92-30 two weeks ago in Keene, Texas, as well.

All but one player on the McM roster scored in the game (only freshman Arielle Bermudez failed to tally a point). Senior Ashley Hesseltine and Tayler Boroson led a balanced attack with 12 points. Boroson also grabbed six rebounds, passed off for four assists and made three steals.

Haley Welch and Adijatu Disu each contributed 11 points as the only other McM players in double-digits. Disu had eight rebounds (five offensive) and made four steals. Welch also made three steals.

Senior Katlyn Tarbet had a great outing, with nine points, six rebounds, three steals and five assists. Tarbet drained 3-for-4 from beyond the arc to account for her points. Taylor Neal and Mishae Roper each booked eight points, with Roper corralling a game-leading nine rebounds.

The War Hawks built a 48-14 halftime lead and then out-scored the Lady Knights by a 39-7 margin in the second half.

McM will close its season next Wednesday (Feb. 25) at home versus Tarleton State University at 6 p.m.
