BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - The McMurry University volleyball team played three matches at Friday's National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Region Tournament, losing in the semifinals of the championship bracket. The War Hawks (19-11) won two of three in pool play before exiting their fourth-consecutive NCCAA regional tournament on the second day.

Pool Play – McMurry 3, Southwestern Christian University 2 (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 17-15): Three senior War Hawks –
Bethany Holub,
Jessica Cory and
Catherine Heath – each had double-figure kill totals to lead McM's five-set win over Southwestern Christian University in the pool play round.
Morgan Thomas (26 assists) and
Jessica Tennis (20 assists) combined for 46 of their team's 56 assists.
Audrey Sanders had eight blocks (three solo), while freshman
Odalis Rodriguez had 22 digs on the defensive side. Â

Pool Play - Oklahoma Baptist 3, McM 0 (14-25, 22-25, 17-25): Taking on the tournament's top-seed – the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University – the War Hawks were swept in their final pool play match, giving the team the #2 slot in their bracket (and a date versus Colorado Christian University in the single-elimination championship semifinals). Heath had eight kills, followed by Holub and Cory with five and four kills, respectively. Cory also had 12 digs. Thomas and Rodriguez each had a pair of service aces, while Thomas also had 12 assists and Rodriguez 15 digs.

Championship Semifinals – Colorado Christian University 3, McM 0 (21-25, 19-25, 11-25): McMurry was eliminated from the NCCAA Central Region Tournament, falling to Colorado Christian in three sets. Holub had seven kills and Cory six. Each also had seven digs. Heath added five kills. Rodriguez's 20 digs led McM, while Tennis had seven digs, as well. Thomas had 13 assists and
Katy Headrick posted three blocks.
