ABILENE, Texas – The McMurry University volleyball team's win streak reached six matches, thanks to its 3-0 win over Sul Ross State University at Kimbrell Arena. The War Hawks (12-5) defeated the Lobos (4-13) by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 26-24.
During its win streak, McMurry has not lost a single set, as well.
McMurry was able to defeat the Lobos in large part to the contributions of the War Hawks' "4H Club":
Catherine Heath,
Kayla Hines,
Katy Headrick and
Kelsey Harkins. Heath and Hines took care of matters on the attack, registering 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Headrick had her trademark balanced match with six kills, two aces, four digs and two blocks. Harkins led the back row efforts with 19 digs.
Audrey Sanders also had a huge match at the net, knocking down nine kills in 12 attempts, with no errors, for a .750- attack percentage.
Morgan Thomas had 24 assists in the contest, while fellow setter
Jessica Tennis added 12.
Jessica Cory made 16 digs, as well.
For the match, McM hit a creditable .284 on its attacks, while holding SRSU to just a .150 attack percentage.
