ABILENE, Texas – McMurry's volleyball team won its 15th match of its last 17 outings, topping Huston-Tillotson University, 3-0, at Kimbrell Arena. The War Hawks (17-6) defeated the Rams (4-20) by scores of 25-15, 25-13, 27-25.
With the win, McMurry took one step closer to another 20-win season and also knocked off HTU for the second time in two weeks.
Catherine Heath had a match-leading nine kills. Senior
Kayla Hines added seven kills and 14 digs.
Audrey Sanders and
Lauren Heathcote each smashed down five kills, as McM hit .244 as a team for the match. Conversely, HTU hit just .085, thanks partly to four blocks by the War Hawks as a team.
Jessica Cory had 15 digs and
Kelsey Harkins added 10.
Setters
Morgan Thomas and
Jessica Tennis combined for 27 assists (Thomas had 14 and Tennis 13).
Madison Fatheree had seven digs and two of her team's four service aces.
