SHREVEPORT, La. – McMurry dropped both ends of its Saturday doubleheader at Centenary University, losing the opener 4-3 and dropping the nightcap, 15-2. The War Hawks fell to 2-11 on the season after the pair of losses.
In game one, RBI singles by
Kory Moench kept the War Hawks in the game. His single through the left side in the top of the seventh inning knotted matters at 3-3.
Deen Coleman (1-1) took the loss in relief of starter
David Towler. Towler went 5 1/3 innings, walking five and striking out four Gents.
McM thirdbaseman
Nick Marsh went 2-for-2 with a run scored.
In game two, Centenary built a 9-0 lead of starter
Zach Matthys before McMurry have anyone cross the plate. Matthys fell to 0-2 on the year.
Hunter Lane and
Matt Thompson each had a pair of hits for the War Hawks.
