War Hawks look to extend 13 game win streak against Concordia

ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University's volleyball team looks to extend its 13 game winning streak Tuesday night against Concordia-Texas at 6 p.m. in Austin. Over the win streak the War Hawks have hit .261 as a team, which is best in the American Southwest Conference.

Concordia finished fifth in the west division of the ASC last season, and was picked to finish fifth in the 2011 preseason ASC poll. The Tornados are 6-5 overall and carry a 2-3 conference mark into the contest. They are led by senior Kaylann White who has recorded 114 kills, and was named the ASC West Division Defensive Preseason Player of the Year. Kevyn Jackson has provided support for White recording 198 digs on the year.

The Tornados have faced four opponents that the War Hawks have already played going 2-2 against them. They beat Sul Ross and Howard Payne (3-1) and lost to Texas Lutheran and Schreiner (3-2) During the winning streak McMurry has beaten Howard Payne (3-2) and has beaten Sul Ross, Texas Lutheran, and Schreiner (3-0).

For the War Hawks M.J. Vickers has averaged 11.92 kills per match recording 155 kills carrying a .308 hitting percentage. Kasi Conners leads the team with a .349 hitting percentage, and blocks recording 61. Conners 61 blocks leads the ASC. McMurry's Bailey Marcum is second on the team in kills recording 117 and first on the team in digs with 205 on the season.

The War Hawks have held opponents to a .106 hitting percentage which marks the best opponent hitting percentage in the ASC. McMurry also leads the ASC in digs per set averaging 19.15 per match.
