RICHARDSON, Texas – UT-Dallas handed McMurry its sixth-straight loss with a 5-3 victory at the UTD Baseball Field Friday afternoon. The Comets scored a run in each of its last three at bats and starter Marvin Prestridge allowed just three runs over 7.1 innings of work to help earn the victory.

Andrew Bell to give McMurry an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. However, in his first start of the season, McMurry's
Stephen Greenwood hit three batters in the bottom half of the inning, gave up two singles including a bases-loaded two-run single by Kyle Guest, and UTD took back the lead at 2-1.
Jake Mullin led off the top of the third with a double and came around to score on a
Brian Durst to tie the score at two for McMurry. Guest and the Comets answered back when he scored on a Larry Bolding sacrifice fly after he led the inning off with a double to take a 3-2 lead.
However, McMurry answered the call when Bell drove home
Greg Guse to knot the score again at three. However, Grant Friddell single home a run in the seventh and Matt Olszewski sacrificed a run home in the eighth while Calvin Campbell shut down McMurry's offense in the final 1.2 innings to help UTD move to 6-2 on the season.
Prestridge finished with his third win of the season, he scattered nine hits, walked two and struck out two to move to 3-0. Campell kept McMurry hitless for the final five outs of the game and struck out two.
Greenwood settled down after the first, but finished with 6.2 innings, six hits allowed, four runs, he walked three and struck out three to fall to 0-1.
The two teams square off in a doubleheader Saturday at Noon.
