IRVING, Texas – Veronica Snow and the McMurry women's basketball team make the long awaited start to the 2010-11 season Friday and Saturday with games against Austin College and the University of Dallas respectively. McMurry takes on former American Southwest Conference member Austin College at 6 p.m. Friday followed by a game with the hosts of the round-robin tournament, UD Saturday at 4 p.m.

Snow, in her fourth season as head coach, puts out entirely her product on the floor for the first time. Last year's senior Amanda Peters was the last of the recruits from the Sam Nichols era, which ended following the 2006-07 season. Snow has continued the success of Nichols with an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008, and ASC West title in 2009, and an ASC title game appearance in 2010.

Five seniors, three of which are in their fourth seasons and two are in their third will look to help lead McMurry. Anna Berthel, Precious Williams, Erica Rawls, Jennifer Wells and Jordan Stansell will look to lead a McMurry team that was picked to finish fourth in the ASC West Division this season after an 18-10 season last year.

Both opponents are under first-year head coaches with the Kangaroos under Michelle Filander and the Crusaders led by Jina Johansen. UD will nor provide live stats or live video for either contest.
