ABILENE -- The McMurry men's basketball led by double digits the entire second half as they opened American Southwest Conference play with an 82-63 win over Louisiana College Saturday at Kimbrell Arena.
Senior guard
Jonathan Walker again led all scorers as he finished with 19 points to lead McMurry to victory. Walker was one of three McMurry players to finish in double figures as senior guard
Dewayne Hall finished with 12 and junior guard
Ricky Burney chipped in 10 off the bench.
After a closely contested first 10 minutes of the first half, McMurry dominated the last 10 minutes of the first frame as they took a 19-point advantage (43-24) into the break.
Louisiana College got within 13 points (59-46) with 14 minutes left in regulation, but that would be as close as the Wildcats would get as McMurry won going away.
McMurry returns to ASC action on Monday, Dec. 1, when they host Mississippi College for a 7:30 p.m. tip at Kimbrell Arena.
