Ayssa Galloway - formerly Garcia - returned to McMurry University as the assistant volleyball coach prior to the 2017 season. Galloway was a standout libero for the War Hawks program for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Gallwoay, as a college freshman, helped lead the McMurry program to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national championship in 2012. McM won NCCAA regional titles both of her years, as well.

At McM, she set the school record for digs in each of her seasons, garnering 623 as a freshman and 764 as a sophomore. Her 1,387 digs – in just two seasons – ranks No. 2 on McMurry’s career list.

She transferred to Tarleton State University her final two collegiate seasons, where she was a part of TSU’s first-ever Lone Star Conference tournament championship – and NCAA playoff team - in 2014, as well as LSC regular season title team in 2015.

She graduated from Tarleton State in 2016.

After graduation, Galloway began coaching with the Abilene Stars Volleyball Club.

Galloway is a native of San Antonio, Texas where she was a graduate of Claudia Taylor Johnson High School (2012). As a prep, Galloway earned a pair of all-district honors and was all-state honorable mention as a senior.
She is married to former McMurry and West Texas A&M football player William Galloway. The couple wed on January 5, 2018. William is a college campus minister at McMurry, working for Grace Point Church.
