M.D. Daniels

M.D. Daniels joined the McMurry football staff in 2013 as a student coach and was elevated to full-time status as linebackers coach in 2014.  Coach Daniels also oversees equipment, as well.

In 2013, Daniels assisted in coaching McM's second team all-American defensive back Desmond Guy.

Daniels had a four-year career at McMurry, playing on the offensive side of the ball his first two seasons before moving over to defense.

Daniels came to McMurry from Brazoswood High School in Chute, Texas. He was a two-way player for BHS head coach Dean DeAtley.

Daniels is the son of Marvellander Daniels and Dana Russell, and was born in Houston. He has two brothers and three sisters. His second cousin is former University of Texas cornerback Quentin Jammer (a first-round draft pick of the San Diego chargers in 2002).

Daniels graduated from McMurry in December of 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
