Joshua Johnson

Joshua Johnson was added to the football coaching staff as a student assistant prior to the 2020-21 season. Johnson lettered two seasons with the team as an offensive lineman in 2018 and 2019.

2019 Season (Sophomore):

Fall Adacemic All-Conference selection ... Appeared in the first two games of the season ... Started on the offensive line against Howard Payne, helping McMurry throw for a season-best 313 yards.

2018 Season (Freshman):
Appeared in four games on the offensive line.

High School:
A graduate of  Santo High School (2018) … Coach was Devon Mann … Twice named all-district as a center … Academic all-district as a junior and senior, as well as academic all-state as a senior … also competed in basketball, baseball and track & field for SHS … In basketball, was academic all-district as a junior, coached by Doug Galyean … In baseball, was all-district honorable mention  as a senior, academic all-district three times (sophomore-senior) and academic all-state, coached by Ryan Pannel … A Honor Roll freshman through junior years and A/B Honor Roll as a senior … Perfect attendance record all four years of high school … Involved in BETA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, band and Future Farmers of America. 

Personal:
Born December 14, 1998 in Weatherford, Texas … From Santo, Texas ... Son of James and Jennifer Johnson … Has two brothers, Morgan and Jake, and one sister, Jill … Enjoys hunting and fishing in free time … Does volunteer work with First Baptist church of Santo and as a volunteer firefighter in Santo … Involved with Ko Sari social club at McMurry ... Majoring in mathematics and minoring in education ... Plans to be a high school teacher and coach.
