Chris Roberts joined the War Hawks staff in August 2019. He will work as the outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator.
Roberts brings over a decade of coaching experience to McMurry, most recently working as an assistant coach at Mesa Jr. College for two seasons. Roberts worked as a football consultant in 2017 before becoming an assistant in 2018.
A well-known football mind in San Antonio, Roberts spent nearly a decade as an educator and football coach in the high school ranks, making stops at Smithson Valley High School, Ronald Reagan High School, Holy Spirit Catholic Jr. High School and Central Catholic High School. He was the head coach of the latter two schools, helping Holy Spirit to back-to-back district runner up finishes in 2007 and 2008 before qualifying for the TAPPS 5A bi-district playoffs in 2011 with Central Catholic.
Roberts owns a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M Commerce, where he was a three-year collegiate football letterman.
