2013 season (Junior):
Ran in six of team's seven meets ... Top McM finisher in every meet he ran ... A career-best - and McM school record - 8K time of 25:42.10 at the Heartland Conference championships, placing fourth ... Also had a top-10 finish at the Libby Invitational to open the year, finishing sixth ... Posted another sub-26 minute 8K time at Arkansas-Little Rock Invitational, with a 25:58.75 (17th place) ... Was 30th of 229 runners at the NCCAA Championships (26:34.30).

2012 season (Sophomore):
Was McMurry’s top finisher in the final four meets of the season … Best placement was a fourth at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open, helping the War Hawks to the team championship … Best 8K time of the season was at the NCCAA championships, where he ran a 26:41.20 (33rd place).

2011 season (Freshman):
Finished 11th (27:15.45) at the American Southwest Conference championship meet, good for a second-team all-ASC finish … During track season, was the ASC champion in the 10,000 meters and 5,000 runner-up, helping to propel War Hawks to a 14th-consecutive ASC title.

High School:
A 2011 graduate of Lavernia High School in Adkins … Competed in cross country and track for four seasons … Coached by Richard Hinossa … Named all-district and all-region and earned a state meet appearance … Helped his team to four consecutive regional championships … As a team placed second and third at the state meet in four years.

Personal:
Born January 3, 1992 in San Antonio, Texas … Son of James and Melanie Thompson … Has four brothers and four sisters … Likes to play soccer, basketball and racquetball in free time … Majoring in mathematics …  Aspirations to become a teacher.
