Played three years of running back for head coach Lee Penland at Hutto High School in Copperas Cove. Helped his team to a co-district championship, a 9-2 record and was named all-district honorable mention after carrying the ball 52 times for 293 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught 22 passes for 388 yards and six scores for the Hippos.
