Played with Austin Gray (Colorado State), Joe Nasser (University of Houston), and Derek Morrow (Texas State) at Wylie. Recorded a sack in the state championship game in 2009.

2011 graduate of Wylie High School in Abilene. Uncle, Homer Thompson, played football at the Ohio State University. Majoring in kinesiology and biology with aspirations to become either a physical therapist or pharmacist. Born 20 July 1993.
