McMurry University Athletics

Will start at linebacker in his final year with the team after a solid junior campaign for the McMurry defense in 2010.

2010 Season (Junior):

Tallied 48 tackles, five for a loss, three sacks, forced a fumble and pressured the quarterback eight times in his first year as a defensive starter. Had a season-high nine tackles and a forced fumble against East Texas Baptist Oct. 2 and recorded six tackles in a game on four other occasions. Earned academic all-District honors from ESPN The Magazine & the College Sports Information Directors of America. Named as McMurry football’s representative on the ASC Distinguished Scholar Athlete team. Named academic all-conference for the second time.

2009 Season (Sophomore):

Played H-back in a backup role for the early portion of the season before transitioning to defense as a linebacker. Carried the ball three times for five yards and caught three passes for 12 yards on the season. Recorded five solo tackles and three assisted tackles on defense.

2008 Season (Freshman):

Played three games at quarterback his freshman year. Carried the ball 21 times for 49 yards including a long run of 16 yards against Louisiana College Nov. 15. Completed 5 o 22 passes for 61 yards and threw three interceptions.

High School:

Played quarterback at Mineral Wells High School for head coach David Bourquin. Was named all-district his senior season and also played defensive end on the other side of the ball. Also lettered in baseball.

Personal:

2008 graduate of Mineral Wells High School in Mineral Wells. Played against Kyle Hix (University of Texas at Austin) and Jevon Sneed (Ole Miss) in high school. Majoring in Business with a minor in mathematics. Born 01 Nov. 1989.
