McMurry University Athletics

Needs just one field goal to take the all-time lead among McMurry kickers since joining the NCAA Division III in 1996. Will start at placekicker in his senior season.

2010 Season (Junior):

Recorded a single-season record with 44 extra points and finished the season 5 of 12 on field goals. Connected on 89.7 percent of his PAT attempts. Connected on a 44-yard field goal against Texas College Sept. 11 and made 7 of 9 PAT attempts to earn ASC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Hit all nine PAT’s in a Homecoming win over Texas Lutheran Oct. 16. Scored 59 points for the War Hawks for a team that set the single-season record for points in a season with 379.

2009 Season (Sophomore):

Scored 41 points in his first season as McMurry’s kicker. Hit 26 of 29 extra-point attempts and he was 5 for 8 from field-goal range. Made two field goals, a season-high, in the season opener against Trinity Sept. 5.  Hit a season-long field goal of 39 yards against Hardin-Simmons Nov. 7. Converted 5 for 5 extra-point attempts two weeks in a row in wins over Howard Payne and Sul Ross State.


2008 Season (Freshman):

Kicked for McMurry’s junior varsity team.

High School:

Played three seasons as the placekicker for head coach Todd Clark at Ysleta High School in El Paso. Named all-district at punter and was a two-time all-district selection at placekicker. Named honorable mention all-El Paso by the El Paso Times. Had one career interception on defense.

Personal:

2008 graduate of Ysleta High School in El Paso. Brother, Rogelio, was a charter member of the McMurry Cross Country team in 1996. Majoring in business information systems with aspirations to join the FBI or DEA. Born 16 Sept. 1989.
