Biography

Enters her senior season as McMurry’s all-time leader in blocks, assisted blocks, and she’s will need just one solo block to take over the all-time lead from Lyndsay Llewellyn. Needs just 157 kills to crack into the McMurry top five for career kills. Enters as third all-time on the school’s career hitting percentage chart with a .296 mark.

2009 Season (Junior):

Named honorable mention all-region by the AVCA. Named to the all-division all-conference team and the first team all-ASC West Division after a solid junior campaign. Recorded team-highs with 252 kills and 109 blocks and compiled a .252 hitting percentage. Recorded double-digit kills in 12 of 28 matches played. Had a season-high 17 kills on three different occasions. Reached the double-digit block mark Sept. 12 against the Stevens Institute of Technology when she had four solo blocks and 10 assisted blocks. 43 of her 109 blocks were solo. She also recorded 31 digs on the season. Averaged 2.38 kills and 1.03 blocks per set.

2008 Season (Sophomore):


Brown became the first all-American volleyball player in school history when the AVCA named her honorable mention following her sophomore season. She was named the American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Year, named to the ASC all-conference volleyball team, and was a first-team all-ASC West Division First Team selection. She ranked third in the ASC in hitting percentage (.331), ninth in kills per set (2.93), and first in blocks at 1.33 blocks per set. Recorded 284 kills, had 39 service aces, had 72 digs, and 129 total blocks (39 solo). Had a season-high 20 kills in a win over Hardin-Simmons Oct. 22. Recorded double-digit kills in 16 matches. Had a season-high 10 total blocks Sept. 20 against Howard Payne. Had her best hitting percentage of the season against Randolph College Aug. 31 when she had 13 kills and two errors on just 18 attacks for a .611 hitting percentage.

2007 Season (Freshman):

Named the ASC West Division co-Player of the Year along with Texas Lutheran’s Jamie Jahns. Brown also earned ASC West Division Newcomer of the Year honors. She also was a member of the ASC all-conference volleyball team and a first-team all-ASC West Division selection. Named AVCA all-West Region. Recorded 145 blocks (first in the ASC), 297 kills and hit .263 on the season. Also had 10 service aces and 35 digs. Had a season-high 19 kills in the semi-final round of the ASC Postseason Tournament against East Texas Baptist Nov. 2. Recorded double-digit kills 14 times. Had a career-high 12 blocks against Concordia-Texas Oct. 7 and later had 10 blocks against Mary Hardin-Baylor Oct. 19.

2004 Season (Redshirt – Abilene Christian University):

Received a redshirt at NCAA Division II Abilene Christian University.

High School:

Played three seasons at Abilene High School for head coach Didi Pierce at middle blocker. Helped her team to a 76-20 record over her final three seasons at AHS. Named first team all-district in each of her last two seasons and was the District’s Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

2004 graduate of Abilene High School in Abilene. Born 26 June 1986.
