McMurry University Athletics

2008 Season (Freshman):

Played in every game at cornerback and recorded 15 tackles including one for a loss. Had five tackles in two different games (vs. Trinity Sept. 6 & vs. Mississippi College Sept. 20). Broke up three passes and was a terror on special teams blocking three kicks on the season. Forced a fumble in the season finale against Louisiana College Nov. 15.

McMurry Track Career:

2008 (Freshman): Earned all-conference honors and went on to the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Championships where he earned all-America status in each meet by placing in the top eight in both the indoor and outdoor long jump. Set McMurry's Indoor record in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet and 9.5 inches at the national outdoor meet. Helped McMurry's men to a second-place overall finish at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.

High School:

Played two seasons at running back and cornerback for head coach David Haynes at Fairfield High School in Fairfield. Named to the first team all-district squad as a running back after carrying for 1,014 yards in his final season. Named honorable mention all-state as a senior.  Named first team all-district as a junior. Also lettered in track winning a state title in the long jump.

Personal:

2008 graduate of Fairfield High School in Fairfield. Majoring in graphic design. Related to Tony Brackens who played eight seasons with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and was a pro bowl selection. Cousin, Dominique Brown, played two seasons of women's basketball at McMurry University. Cousin, Eric Palmer, played on McMurry's JV Football team in 2008. Born 29 April 1990.
