McMurry University Athletics

Enters his final season with a chance to break into the top 25 list for career tackles at McMurry. Since McMurry joined the ASC in 1996, Wallace has the eighth-highest tackle total with 183. At an average of 61 tackles over the last three seasons, Wallace is on pace to reach second on that ASC list and 12th on the all-time McMurry list for tackles.

2008 Season (Junior):

Named honorable mention all-ASC after recording 62 tackles (22 solo), 6.0 TFL and 1.5 TFL. He broke up two passes on the season and reached the double-digit tackle mark in consecutive games against Texas Lutheran and Hardin-Simmons. His best game of the season was against TLU Oct. 25 when he had 11 tackles and two for a loss.

2007 Season (Sophomore):

Named second team all-conference by the ASC after recording 78 tackles and 14.0 TFL. Recorded 49 solo tackles, broke up two passes and forced two fumbles in his sophomore campaign. Recorded a season-high 11 tackles including three for a loss and forced a fumble in the season finale against Hardin-Simmons. Perhaps his best game came against East Texas Baptist Oct. 6 when he recorded nine tackles (eight solo), had 4.5 TFL including two sacks for a loss of 22 yards and forced a fumble.

2006 Season (Freshman):

Was seventh on the squad in tackles with 43. Had five tackles for a loss equaling 24 yards lost. Had one sack, forced a fumble and recorded a safety in the team’s win over Austin College Sept. 9. Had 13 tackles and two for a loss in McMurry’s loss to Sul Ross State Oct. 21.

High School:

Played two seasons for head coach Craig Yenzer at Midland High. Helped the Bulldogs to a 20-6 record in his two seasons with the program. Had 50 tackles as a junior before breaking out with 111 (78 solo) stops in his senior season and had four sacks. He was named all-state, all-region, all-district and was the team’s defensive MVP.  Was named the West Texas All-Star Classic Defensive MVP.

Personal:

2006 graduate of Midland High School in Midland. Brother, Buck, played two seasons of football at McMurry in 2006 and 2007. Played along side Baron Batch at Midland High School; Batch is now a running back for NCAA Division I Texas Tech. Born 07 Aug. 1987.
