McMurry University Athletics

2009 Season: 

Made 14 appearances and started one game.  Finished with a 2-1 record and posted a team-low 3.51 ERA in 33.1 innings of work.  Struck out 37 batters and held opposing batters to a paltry .198 batting average, which was also a team best.
Was the ASC West Division Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 31 after he tossed 9 1/3 innings of brilliant relief against Manchester College.  Davis didn’t allow an earned run (one unearned run was tallied to him) as Manchester only mustered one hit off him while he struck out a career-high 12 batters.  He entered in the second inning with a 5-0 deficit and held the Spartans in check as McMurry eventually rallied for a thrilling 7-6 victory in 12 innings.

2008 Season: 

Appeared in five games and worked 14.2 innings.  Started two games and didn’t get a decision in any contest.  Finished with 13 strikeouts and a 6.75 ERA. 

High School:

Two-year letterwinner at Wylie High School.  Played for head coach Clay Martin and was the district’s MVP as a senior on the mound. His 12-0 record, 108 strikeouts and 0.97 ERA in his final season earned him a spot on the second-team all-state squad. Helped the Bulldogs to a 34-4 record in his final year.
