ABILENE, Texas – McMurry volleyball protected its home court on Tuesday night, rolling past Dallas Christian College in a straight-set sweep (25-18, 25-16, 25-20).

The opening set saw Dallas Christian grab an early 2-0 lead before the War Hawks responded with five consecutive points to take charge. McMurry kept its foot on the gas midway through the frame, using an 8-1 run to stretch the advantage out to 16-8. The Crusaders attempted to trim the margin late, but the War Hawks held firm to lock down the 25-18 opening win.

The two sides traded the lead early in the second frame, with Dallas Christian edging ahead 10-9. The War Hawks answered with a decisive 6-0 run to regain control at 15-10 and never looked back. McMurry extended the cushion to 20-12 and cruised down the stretch for a comfortable 25-16 victory to take a commanding two-set lead.

The third set proved to be the most competitive battle of the night, featuring frequent lead changes and ties all the way to 13-13. McMurry briefly pulled ahead 16-13, but the visitors fought back to make it a one-point contest at 20-19. Facing pressure, the War Hawks answered with a clutch four-point surge to reach match point at 24-19 before finishing off the night with a 25-20 win to complete the sweep.

The War Hawks open their conference slate on the road at Hardin-Simmons this Friday evening at the Mabee Complex at 6:00 p.m.
