ABILENE, Texas - McMurry Women's Soccer dropped a 3-1 decision to undefeated Trinity University in a neutral-site matchup at the HSU Soccer Complex on Saturday morning.
Trinity got on the board in the 14th minute, pushing a shot past the McMurry defense for a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers extended their advantage early in the second half with another goal in the 47th minute.
McMurry answered back in the 76th minute when
Genevieve Dorasami broke through and found the net unassisted, cutting the deficit to 2-1 with her first goal of the season.
Trinity responded shortly after, sealing the game with a final goal in the 79th minute.
The Tigers out-shot the War Hawks 27-5 and
Avery Anders came up with seven saves in the net to lead McMurry defensively.
Laila Brown had two shots to lead McM, followed by Dorasami,
Hailey Andrle, and
Halin Griffith with one each.
The War Hawks return to action Saturday, September 26th at 5:00 p.m. to open conference play against Hardin-Simmons at home.
