ABILENE, Texas - McMurry Women's Soccer picked up a dominant 6-0 victory over Centenary College on Sunday.
McMurry got on the board in the 18th minute when
Hailey Andrle scored an unassisted goal for a 1-0 lead.
Andrle struck again in the 20th minute off an assist from
Laila Brown to give the War Hawks a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
In the 58th minute, Andrle completed a hat trick with a goal assisted by
Madison Black.
Brown added to the lead in the 72nd minute with a goal assisted by
Macie Griffin.
Griffin found the back of the net unassisted in the 75th minute, and
Cameryn Peter capped the scoring less than a minute later with a goal assisted by
Hayle Heinen.
McMurry out-shot its guest 27-2.
Avery Anders recorded one save in the first half to get the win, while
Cadence Foulkrod preserved the shutout in the second half.
Andrle and
Genevieve Dorasami led McM with five shots each, followed by Brown, Black, and Griffin with three each.
The War Hawks return to action Thursday, September 17th, at 5:00 p.m., facing Southwestern University at the HSU Soccer Complex in Abilene.
