LEXINGTON, KY - Continuing a standard of excellence off the court, the McMurry University volleyball program has been honored with the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.

This marks the fourth straight year and the fifth time in the last six years that the War Hawks have earned this prestigious national recognition, highlighting the program's enduring commitment to academic success.

The award, presented by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale during the 2025–26 academic year. McMurry stands proudly among the 1,432 programs nationwide to achieve this academic milestone this season.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

By earning this distinction, the War Hawks join an elite group of student-athletes across the country who successfully balance the rigorous demands of collegiate athletics with exceptional performance in the classroom.
