War Hawks Claim 2-0 Victory Over Dallas in Series Opener

IRVING, TX - The McMurry War Hawks faced off against Dallas on March 27, 2026, in a road matchup. The final score was 2-0 in favor of McMurry.

McMurry scored in the first inning. Kaelyn Rodriguez walked, then Angelina Kulbeth doubled to left-center to drive her in for a 1-0 lead. Dallas threatened with two singles, but McMurry turned a 2-1 double play to keep Dallas scoreless.

Both teams played strong defense through the middle innings. Neither team had a hit in the second through fifth frames. McMurry pitcher Rexie Sanders held Dallas in check with walks and flyouts.

The War Hawks added a run in the sixth. Taylor McCurdy singled to left-center. Kulbeth reached on an error, moving McCurdy to third. Reaghan Staehely singled to center for a 2-0 lead.

Dallas put two runners on in the seventh via an error and a walk, but Sanders induced a groundout to short, sealing the 2-0 shutout for McMurry.

Top Performers:
Rexie Sanders: Earned the complete-game shutout win, pitching 7.0 innings while allowing just 3 hits and 0 runs, to go along with two strikeouts.

Angelina Kulbeth: Led the team offensively, going 1-for-3 with a crucial RBI double in the first inning to give McMurry the initial lead.

Reaghan Staehely: Finished 1-for-2 with a walk, delivering the insurance run with an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Taylor McCurdy: Went 1-for-3 at the plate, sparking the sixth-inning scoring drive with a single and eventually coming around to score.
