McMurry Offense Explodes in Road Sweep of Dallas

IRVING, TX - The McMurry War Hawks dominated the diamond on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against the University of Dallas. The War Hawks took game one 10-5 and secured a commanding 11-0 shutout in five innings in game two.

Game 1: McMurry 10, Dallas 5
In the first game, McMurry wasted no time getting on the board, plating three runs in the top of the first inning. Reaghan Staehely reached on an error to bring in a run, followed by an RBI double from Sophia Steele and an RBI single from Sophia Garza.

The War Hawks built an early lead, plating three in the first and three more in the second as Kulbeth, Steele, Garza, Rodriguez, Owen, and Hernandez each drove in runs. Dallas attempted a late rally, but McMurry held on for the 10-5 win. Garza pitched six innings for the victory, allowing three earned runs and striking out two.

Game 2: McMurry 11, Dallas 0
In game two, the War Hawks' offense erupted for eight runs in theopening inning,s highlighted by RBI hits from Staehely,Steele, Garza, and McCurdy. The scoring was capped with additional RBIs from Garza in the second, Staehely in the third and fifth, making it 11-0.0.

Complementing the offensive showcase, Nyema Muhammad was brilliant in the circle for game two, tossing a complete-game, five-inning shutout. She allowed just two hits, surrendered no walks, and struck out one to secure the win.

Top Performers
Reaghan Staehely: Tallied four hits and six RBIs over two games, including a double.

Kaelyn Rodriguez: Produced five hits, five runs scored, and two RBI on the day.

Taylor McCurdy: Contributed three hits, including a double, while driving in two runs and scoring three times.

Nyema Muhammad: Pitched a complete-game shutout in game two, allowing only two hits over five innings to secure the victory.

On Deck:
The War Hawks will be back at Edwards Field next Friday when they open their series against Austin College with a doubleheader starting at 4:00 p.m.
