SAN ANTONIO, TX - The McMurry women's soccer team fell to Trinity 4-1 on Sunday at Paul McGinlay Field. Despite a tough defensive outing, the War Hawks managed to score their lone goal in the second half.
McMurry's goal came in the 73rd minute when Laila Brown scored, assisted by Kaylee Worth. The goal was Brown's first of the season. The War Hawks were outshot 36-6, but goalkeeper Avery Anders was a bright spot, making eight saves during the match.
On offense, the team managed six shots, with three on target. Laila Brown led the team with two shots on goal. Alyssa Villarreal, Audrey Pool, and Madison Black also had a shot on goal each.
McMurry will head to Brownwood for their next match on Thursday, September 18, to face off with Howard Payne University with a kickoff at 5:00 p.m.
