Abilene, TX – In their regular season finale, the War Hawks fell to the Texas Lutheran 7-0 at Edwards Field.

Texas Lutheran got an early lead in the top of the first inning, scoring one run. McMurry threatened in their half of the first inning with singles from Angelina Kulbeth and Mercedes Camacho, but the War Hawks could not capitalize.  

The Bulldogs extended their lead with three runs in the third inning and another in the fourth, increasing their lead to 5-0. McMurry was again held scoreless in the bottom of the fourth.  

Texas Lutheran scored two more runs in the top of the sixth to make the score 7-0. McMurry could not mount a comeback, resulting in a 7-0 loss to the Bulldogs.  

Mackenzie McClellan took the loss for McMurry, pitching four innings. Emmalee Gebhart pitched the final three innings for McMurry.  

The War Hawks finished the regular season 15-17 overall and 14-15 in conference. Next week, they will travel to Southwestern University to play for the SCAC Conference championship in a double-elimination tournament starting May 2nd, game time to be determined.
