Abilene, TX - The McMurry War Hawks lost game one of their doubleheader to the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs 9-7.

Texas Lutheran took a 7-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning following five no-hit innings from TLU's starter. The War Hawks' offense finally came alive in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring five runs. Gonzales walked, and after a fielder's choice, Kami Owen came in to pinch run. Dickens singled, Brown reached first on an error, and Staehely walked, scoring Owen. Mongelli then singled, driving in Brown and Dickens, and Barton singled, scoring Mongelli and Staehely, cutting the deficit to 7-5.  

Texas Lutheran added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning on a 2-run home run, making the score 9-5.

McMurry attempted a final comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning. Gonzales and Kulbeth both walked, and Camacho flew out. Dickens singled, scoring Gonzales, and Brown popped out. Staehely then doubled, driving in Kulbeth, but Mongelli flew out to end the game with a score of 9-7.  

The McMurry War Hawks dropped the second game of the doubleheader 7-4 in a hard-fought game.

Texas Lutheran jumped out to an early two run lead in the top of the first. The War Hawks were able to tie it up in the bottom of the second inning on a Morgan Mehaffey 2-run homerun.

Texas Lutheran regained the lead in the bottom of the third. McMurry responded with a solo home run by Mercedes Camacho, tying the game back up at 3-3.

Texas Lutheran increased their lead in the top of the fifth inning, scoring three runs. They scored one run on an error and two on a home run, making the score 6-3.  

McMurry scored one run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jade Dickens doubled, Alyssa Hernandez pinch ran for Dickens and advanced to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Sophia Steele.  

Texas Lutheran added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning to end the scoring for the game, making the final score 7-4.
