BELTON - It was a tough day on the diamond for our McMurry War Hawks in their doubleheader against Mary Hardin-Baylor on March 26th in Belton. The Cru took both games, with scores of 3-0 in game one and 8-1 in game two.
In the first game, Mary Hardin-Baylor's pitching proved to be the difference, limiting the War Hawks to only one hit.
Angelina Kulbeth recorded the sole hit for McMurry on a single in the top of the fourth inning. Mary Hardin-Baylor scored one run in the first, another in the fourth, and one more in the sixth to secure a 3-0 victory.
Baylee Fulps pitched for the War Hawks, going six innings and allowing three runs. Â Â
Game two of the doubleheader saw Mary Hardin-Baylor's offense come alive. The Cru scored eight runs on eleven hits. McMurry managed one run on four hits.
Sabrina Graf homered in the top of the fifth, driving in McMurry's only run of the ballgame. Mary Hardin-Baylor scored one run in the first and added five more in the second inning. They added two more runs in the fourth inning. Â Â
The War Hawks will look to turn their fortunes around when they host Austin College for a weekend series at Edwards Field. Games this weekend will be Saturday, March 29th, at 7:00 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday, March 30th, with the first game starting at Noon.
