SHREVEPORT - McMurry women's basketball was able to win big on the road against Centenary in their Sunday afternoon matchup. 

McMurry improved to 16-4 overall & 9-2 in conference play, while Centenary dropped to 2-18 overall & 1-11 in conference play. 

The War Hawks received contributions from top to bottom as they had a collective effort on the stat sheet, but they were led by Ashton Garner with 13 points & followed by Kylie Flippin with 11 points. 

McMurry controlled the game from the start, as they jumped out to a 20-4 lead after the first quarter of play. They extended their lead with a 31-7 second quarter, giving them a massive 51-11 lead at the half. 

Centenary performed better in the second half, but the game was never in doubt as McMurry was in complete control from start to finish. The War Hawks were able to get the win by a score of 85-49. 

They shot 46.9% from the field & 38.7% from 3. McMurry benefited from 41 points off the bench & 36 points in the paint. 

The War Hawks are back in action this weekend at home as they'll take on University of Dallas on Saturday & Austin College on Sunday.
