CLARKSVILLE- The McMurry men's basketball team picked up a huge conference win on Friday night in dramatic fashion against Ozarks. 

The War Hawks were able to reverse their fortunes as they were on the winning end of a last second shot going in. Jalen Cherry was able to sink a 3 pointer as time was expiring to give McMurry the win. McMurry improved to 5-14 overall & 3-7 in SCAC play, while Ozarks fell to 13-7 overall & 5-6 in SCAC play. 

This SCAC matchup was close throughout the entire contest. Both teams came into this one needing a win and the War Hawks showed they were going to do whatever it took to come out victorious. 

The first half was back and forth, as the game was about as close as it could be for the entire half. The Eagles took a slim lead into the locker room as they lead 36-33 at the half. 

The second half saw the War Hawks heat up as they played with urgency and intensity. They were able to close the gap as both teams continued to trade baskets back and forth. 

The Eagles were leading by 2 whenever the War Hawks got a big buzzer beater from Jalen Cherry to give them the win, 85-84. 

McMurry was led by Matt Pena with 23 points, followed by Josh Alcocer with 17 points, while Ozarks was led by Justice Marmara with 21 points. 

The War Hawks are back in action Sunday as they take on Centenary in Shreveport at 2:00.
