PRAIRIE VIEW, TX - McMurry women's cross country finished the season strong, securing sixth place in the 10-team field at the 6,000-meter SCAC Championships on Saturday morning at Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Farm and Ranch in Prairie View.
The War Hawks were led by a stellar individual performance from Savanna Danner, who raced to a seventh-place overall finish with an impressive time of 22:59.8. Danner's top-ten placement was a highlight for the team.
Madison Soultanova was the second runner across the line for McMurry, finishing in 15th place with a 23:49.9 time. Soultanova's performance kept the War Hawks firmly in the top half of the field.
Consistency defined the War Hawks' third and fourth runners, as Anna Dinaso and Viviana Diaz finished separated by mere seconds. Dinaso clocked a time of 26:28.0, and Diaz followed immediately with a 26:29.7 performance.
Kami Owen rounded out the scoring for McMurry women with a time of 29:59.5. The War Hawks finished the day with an average time of 25:57.38 and a total team score of 142 points.
