PRAIRIE VIEW, TX - McMurry men's cross country showcased strong pack running to secure a fifth-place finish in the 11-team field at the 8,000-meter SCAC Championships on Saturday morning at Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Farm and Ranch in Prairie View.
The War Hawks' efforts were paced by Roman Perez, who was the first McMurry runner to cross the finish line. Perez posted a time of 25:56.7, earning 16th overall.
Antonio Martinez followed shortly after, delivering a strong run with a time of 26:18.2, which was good for 20th place overall.
The third scoring runner for McMurry was Isaac Gonzales, who completed the challenging 8K course in 26:25.6, finishing in 23rd place.
McMurry's fourth finisher, Sam Falkstein, finished in 43rd place with a time of 27:12.9, while Jeremiah Rodriguez secured the fifth scoring spot for the War Hawks, finishing with a 28:13.0 time.
Gabriel Reyna and Ryan Dandurand provided depth, finishing with times of 28:20.7 and 28:45.6, respectively. The McMurry team finished the day with a total score of 127 points and an average time of 26:49.28.
