War Hawks Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play

ABILENE, TX - The McMurry women's soccer team dominated Austin College with a commanding 4-0 shutout victory on Friday at Wilford Moore Stadium. The win moved the War Hawks' conference record to 2-0-1, extending their unbeaten streak in conference play to three games.

The War Hawks' offense was relentless, scoring all four goals in the second half. Madison Black broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, assisted by Cienna Rodriguez. Laila Brown quickly followed with an unassisted goal in the 69th minute. The scoring continued when Halin Griffith found the back of the net in the 73rd minute, assisted by Haylie Blakley. The final goal came from Keeli Villarreal in the 82nd minute.

McMurry controlled the game, out-shooting the Lady Kangaroos 17-3 overall and putting 10 shots on goal. Laila Brown and Keeli Villarreal led the team with three total shots each, followed by Cate Tempelmeyer with two. Goalkeeper Avery Anders was stellar, securing the clean sheet with two saves on the day.

The War Hawks will look to maintain their winning conference form as they play LeTourneau University on Sunday at noon in Longview.
