IRVING, TX - The McMurry women's soccer team secured a dominant 4-1 conference victory over Dallas on Sunday, extending the War Hawks' impressive conference unbeaten streak to eight games (6-0-3).
The Crusaders struck first in the 5th minute. The War Hawks quickly responded just over two minutes later when
Laila Brown scored the equalizer in the 8th minute, assisted by
Cienna Rodriguez.
Genevieve Dorasami then gave McMurry the lead with an unassisted goal in the 27th minute, sending the War Hawks into halftime up 2-1.
The War Hawks continued their offensive pressure in the second half.
Hailey Andrle scored the third goal in the 62nd minute with an unassisted strike, and
Madison Black capped off the scoring in the 76th minute, assisted by
Ava Camp.
McMurry dominated the match with 23 total shots, placing 12 on target.
Laila Brown and
Halin Griffith led the team in shots with three each, while
Hailey Andrle,
Cienna Rodriguez,
Alexandria Flores,
Halin Griffith,
Cameryn Peter,
Genevieve Dorasami,
Natalee Shaw, and
Madison Black all recorded a shot on goal. Goalkeeper
Avery Anders earned the win, securing the second-half shutout.
The War Hawks finish the regular season with their final conference match against Schreiner on Saturday, November 1st, in Kerrville at Mountaineer Soccer Field at 5:00 p.m.
