ABILENE, TX – The McMurry University men's golf program wrapped up a competitive outing at the Abilene Intercollegiate, hosted by Hardin-Simmons University at the par-71 Live Oak Golf Club.

The War Hawks fielded two squads in the 10-team field. The McMurry A team finished the tournament tied for fifth place with Concordia, posting a total score of 619 (314-305). The War Hawk B team finished eighth overall with a combined score of 644 (320-324).
 

A Team Highlights Round Two Improvement

The A team showed significant improvement in Tuesday's final round, shaving nine strokes off their Monday total to finish strong. Leading the charge for McMurry was Chase Allison, who carded a total score of 151 (78-73) to finish tied for 14th individually. Allison's second-round 73 was the best single-round score by a War Hawk in the tournament, securing his place as the top finisher.

Eli Brinton and Kendrick Hoster also delivered solid performances for the A team, both securing spots within the top 25. Brinton finished tied for 19th with a 154 (78-75), while Hoster shot 155 (79-77) to tie for 21st. Owen Morris carded a 164 (79-80) for 36th place, and Tripten Roberts finished with a 165 (84-81).
 

B Team Individuals Shine

Several individuals from the McMurry B team also showed impressive fight and resilience. Maddox Brock matched Hoster's score, finishing tied for 21st with a 155 (79-76), a highlight performance from the B squad. Tallon Burgess secured 27th place, carding a 158 (75-83).

Caden Cawvey, competing as an individual, had one of the day's most impressive turnarounds, improving his round-one score by 14 strokes for a final round of 79, giving him a 172 total. Other notable improvements in the final round came from Kelen Owensby (87-81-168) and Brennan Moreau (91-84-175). Competing as an individual, Cody Means posted a 159 (86-83).
