KERRVILLE - McMurry women's basketball got another big win on Saturday afternoon as they took down conference opponent Schreiner by a score of 70-39.
The War Hawks advanced to 9-2 overall & 2-0 in conference play, while Schreiner fell to 2-10 & 0-3 in conference play.
The first half saw an elite defensive effort from the War Hawks as they held Schreiner to only 13 points in the first half, with McMurry taking a 36-13 lead into the locker room.
In the second half, Schreiner was able to score the ball more but the toughness & intensity on the defensive end for McMurry never gave in. McMurry would go on to win by 31, getting them to a big 2-0 start in SCAC play.
The War Hawks were led by Katie Hale with 15 points, followed by Kylie Flippin with 13, while Schreiner was led by Aylene Ortega with 14 points.
The War Hawks will be back in action on January 17th against St. Thomas in Houston at 5:30pm.
