KERRVILLE- McMurry men's basketball was able to get a big win on the road against Schreiner to move to 1-1 in conference play.
McMurry would ride a strong start to take them into the locker room with a 4 point lead at the half. Schreiner was able to stay close, as the game never really saw a lot of distance between the two squads.
The second half saw the same trends, as both teams battled and fought for points to try to go on runs to create separation. McMurry did a great job of executing and keeping their lead to close out the Mountaineers.
The War Hawks were able to win the game in the margins, as they scored 16 points off turnovers & scored 31 fast break points. McMurry got key contributions from their bench as they showed off their deep rotation while getting 24 points from their bench in the contest.
McMurry was led by Matt Pena with 16 points, followed by TJ Hilliard with 10 points, while Schreiner was led by Dylan Mackey with 19 points.
McMurry will be back in action on the 17th in Houston as they take on St. Thomas at 7:30pm.
