ABILENE – McMurry Men's Soccer plays its lone game of the week on Saturday when Concordia visits Wilford Moore Stadium at 7 p.m. for the War Hawks' Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference debut.
McMurry comes in at 2-4-1 after a loss at UT Dallas on Sunday.
McMurry Storylines
The Goals: The War Hawks have four goals this season from four different players.
Jovani Burnett,
Herbie Martinez,
Nick Munoz and
Julian Trevino have one goal each. The game-winners belong to Burnett and Munoz.
Better Late Than Never: The two wins have been dramatic. Burnett scored with three seconds left in the win over Lyon and Munoz found the net in the final minute in the victory over Dallas.
Assists: The War Hawks have four assists this season, led by
Landyn Snider with two.
Brian Boyles and
Dylan Christian have one apiece.
Shots Fired: Pedro Yanez leads the team with seven shots this season and is tied with
Arik Phillips for the team lead with three shots on goal.
In Goal: Brandon Walker (325 minutes) and
Jonathan Garcia (295 minutes) have logged most of the keeper minutes this season. Walker has 21 saves and a 2.49 goals allowed average. Garcia has 18 saves and a 2.44 GAA.
About Concordia: The Tornados are 3-1-3 on the season after beating Howard Payne 2-1 on Saturday. Theo Givens leads CU with four goals and has four assists. Antonio Rios leads the SCAC with five assists. Leo Reyes leads the keeper staff with 14 saves and carries a 1.78 GAA.
