CONWAY, Ark. – Hendrix scored with three seconds remaining to hand McMurry its first women's soccer loss on Monday, 2-1.

The War Hawks fell behind 1-0 in the first half but scored on a corner kick play with
Brooklyn Grove playing in a goal with an assist from
Emily Holland in the 71
st minute.

A frenetic last attack by Hendrix started with a free kick from midfield and ended with a goal from the top of the box by Sofia Fennelly.

"It's a tough loss but how we respond will really determine who this team will actually be," said McMurry head coach
Charles Nobles. "Tomorrow is a new day and I look forward to us getting better tomorrow."

McMurry out-shot the hosts 17-8 with Holland launching seven shots. Holland,
Cienna Rodriguez,
Laila Brown,
McKenna Standifer,
Cate Tempelmeyer and Grove had shots on goal.

Kaitlyn Gustafson had two saves in goal.

McMurry is back in action on Tuesday afternoon at 4, taking on Rhodes College in Memphis.
