ABILENE – McMurry standout TJ Hilliard will take his talents on the road this summer, touring Europe with Global Sports Academy.
 
Hilliard leaves in early August for the trip which will take him and other NCAA basketball players through a schedule of games in Belgium and Germany.
 
"I feel like this upcoming trip is a great opportunity because I'd get to see the world, experience and learn about different cultures, food, and music," said Hilliard. "I am excited about all the growing experiences I will encounter afforded to me because of the passion I have for the game of basketball. I couldn't be more blessed for the opportunity."
 
Hilliard, a 6-3 forward from Houston, played in all 25 games for the War Hawks last season, starting 17 games. He averaged 9.4 points and 4.9 rebounds.
 
"TJ is going to be a fifth-year guy in our program and I am excited for him to be able to make a trip like this," said McMurry head coach Zach Pickelman. "Getting to see a different brand of basketball, and a different part of the world will be a unique experience that will better TJ and our program. Elias Garcia made the trip last year, and that experience helped him with his senior year and with playing professionally. TJ will be a great ambassador for McMurry University."
