Box Score McMurry University's Lady War Hawks lost 77-71 to University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday, Feb. 15 in Belton.
Sophomore guard Kylie Flippin (Wichita Falls, Texas) led the way with 30 points, followed by junior guard/forward Emily Holland (Mansfield, Texas) with 17 and sophomore guard Helana Chadwick (La Vernia, Texas) with 11.
Flippin recorded a double double as she also had 11 rebounds, three on offense and eight on defense. Junior post Katie Hale (Decatur, Texas) finished with nine rebounds, all on defense.
Coach Drew Long's team connected on eight three-pointers. Holland and Flippin had three each, while freshman wing Gracie Garcia (The Woodlands, Texas) and Chadwick added one apiece. At the free-throw line, Flippin was 13 of 16, Holland was 6 of 6, Chadwick was 2 of 2 and Garcia was 1 of 1. The Lady War Hawks stole the ball eight times with Chadwick getting three thefts, Flippin and Holland each contributing two, and Hale adding one. Chadwick, Hale and Flippin blocked a shot apiece.
The score was tied five times and the lead changed hands five times.
McMurry, 15-9 overall and 9-6 in the American Southwest Conference, plays its last regular-season game at 1 p.m. Saturday against Concordia University in Austin.
